Known as the "CCAC," we are the Cascadia Center for Arts & Crafts. We're a 5013c3 non-profit charitable organization dedicated to offer makers space and hands-on art classes in the forests of Mt Hood, Oregon. Our unique operating permit allows us to operate in historic US Forest Service cabins.

Historic buildings turned makers space

The Raven Studio was built in 1960 and originally used as a personal residence for higher ranking Forest Service personnel. Its basement now serves as a glass studio. The cabin also has main floor space for Jewelry-Arts (non-torch), Textiles-Fibers Arts, Visual Arts, Writing and other art-specific art gatherings.

The Trillium Studio (Raven’s twin) serves as an ideal space for printmaking, jewelry making, textiles/fibers arts and other hand crafts.

At the South Summit Blacksmith Shop location, we now have four double forges for teaching the craft of blacksmithing and metal arts.

This is the ultimate ‘recycling’ of government buildings for use by the public, to be shared for generations.

Spend some time on the mountain! We're off the beaten path (sort of) but take a look at the map for your class location. Sorry, lodging is not available for students at the CCAC spaces. But lodges, cabins, campsites, hotels, and more are available in the area.

Luckily, this area has been a destination for thousands of years (Yes, that's right! Thousands!), so please click on the links below to find some amazing places to stay! And remember, this is a destination area, plenty of property management resources if the listed below aren't available.

LODGING:

CCAC is located in Government Camp, Oregon of the Mt Hood National Forest. Travel is scenic and full of adventure for an art trip to Oregon. Portland International Airport (PDX) is about an hour away. The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area is a must-see and adds a great "loop" around our mountain. Enjoy!
